Fort Collins' Responsible Alcohol Retailers (RAR) is a self-governed group of both on-premise and off-premise alcohol retailers who abide by a Code of Ethics around the responsible sale and serving of alcohol. The group assembled in the fall of 2004.
Meetings are coordinated by TEAM Fort Collins and are typically held once every other month. The group meetings tend to focus on issues that the alcohol retailing industry faces, such as identification of fake IDs, preventing drinking and driving, and good business practices. Officer Bob Younger often participates in the meetings and lends valuable insights from his perspective as Fort Collins Alcohol and Tobacco Compliance Enforcement Officer.
There are many incentives to active group membership, some of which include staff discounts at other members' stores, bars, and restaurants; recognition from the Fort Collins Liquor Licensing Board; and participation in the BARS program at a hugely discounted price. RAR members are proud to serve the Fort Collins community in such a way that enhances the community culture and makes it a safer place for all to live.
Look for window stickers exhibiting the RAR logo in active members' store windows.
